Dr. Abhishek Sharma is a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Clean Energy Transformation Lab (CETlab) at the University of California Santa Barbara (UCSB) since 2024. 

His research interests include energy systems modeling, energy forecasting using engineering and machine learning methods. He contributes to emLab’s efforts in enhancing India’s energy transition by developing models and datasets for resource adequacy and long-term electricity system planning. His work focuses on leveraging tools like GridPath to assess renewable energy capacity and its integration into India’s national and state-level grids.

Prior to UCSB, Abhishek worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at IIT Kanpur, where he led projects on electric load forecasting and renewable energy optimization for Indian Railways.
